About this tour
Northern Tunisia’s cork oak belt offers a bird community distinct from the country’s desert routes. This private day concentrates on woodland and forest edge around Ain Draham and the wider Jendouba region, with nearby open-country or wetland stops added when they strengthen the field plan.
A recorded June visit produced 61 species and confirms the area’s breadth. Levaillant’s Woodpecker is a central possibility, joined by Atlas Flycatcher, African Blue Tit, Common Firecrest, Short-toed Treecreeper, Cirl Bunting and migrant or breeding woodland birds. Nearby habitats can also add raptors, bee-eaters, ducks and swamphen.
Pickup can be arranged from Tunis, Ain Draham or another agreed northern starting point. Mohamed adapts walking time, roadside stops and observation pace to bird activity, weather and photography priorities. The exact circuit and commercial arrangements are confirmed before travel, and no species is guaranteed.
