Blue-grey Tanager, Thraupis episcopus, is a tanager found in Middle America and South America, from southern Mexico to Bolivia and across Amazonia. It is a widespread bird of open woodland, cultivated land and gardens, and it also occurs in forests and secondary growth. A distinctive feature is its blue-toned plumage, with the shoulder patch often a different shade from the rest of the body. It is a common species that often lives close to people, and it is known from Trinidad and Tobago as blue jean.
