Clamator glandarius (Linnaeus, 1758)

Great Spotted Cuckoo, Clamator glandarius, breeds across Africa and in southern Europe through Africa. It is a cuckoo in the order Cuculiformes and the family Cuculidae. This bird is found in warm open country with trees, and it is known for laying its eggs in corvid nests, especially those of the Eurasian magpie. It is a brood parasite, but neither the adult nor the chick removes the host’s eggs. The species is monotypic, with no recognised subspecies.
