About this tour
Spend a week discovering how quickly habitats and bird communities change across Lesvos with island-based environmental scientist and guide Eleni Galinou.
The programme is customised after inquiry. Its building blocks include the salt pans and mixed farmland around Kalloni Gulf, central olive groves and maquis, the oak patches and rocky garrigue of the west, and pine forest or small coastal wetlands in the south. Daily choices can respond to migration, weather, desired species and photography interests.
Eleni has guided week-long groups across central and western Lesvos, while her regular service also covers the island's southern sector. The displayed seven days describe a flexible birding framework rather than fixed departures. Guided time, transport, accommodation, meals and the total price are agreed for the requested arrangement.

Itinerary
Day 1
Set priorities around Kalloni
Meet Eleni and turn target birds, photographic aims, mobility and the latest field conditions into a practical plan for the week.
Day 2
Read the Kalloni wetlands
Work the salt pans, coastal marshes, pasture and cultivated ground around the gulf for waterbirds, raptors and birds moving through the island.
Day 3
Explore the central olive landscape
Spend time among olive groves, open pasture and maquis, selecting stops according to the species active in this part of Lesvos.
Day 4
Search the dry western habitats
Move into garrigue, sparse oak woodland, rocky country and small western wetlands in search of the region's characteristic birds and migrants.
Day 5
Add southern forest and coast
Use pine forest, olive country and compact coastal wetlands to broaden the habitat coverage when southern conditions are promising.
Day 6
Revisit targets or slow down for photography
Return to a productive area for a missed priority, or give photographers more patient time with a subject already located.
Day 7
Use the final session where it matters most
Let recent sightings and the remaining wish list determine a final local route before the programme closes.
