Cinereous Bunting, Emberiza cineracea, is a bunting of dry rocky hills in the south-west Palearctic, breeding on Lesbos and Chios in Greece, in south-west, central and south-east Turkey, and also in northern Iraq and far north-west Iran. It also winters along the coastal Red Sea from north-east Sudan through Eritrea to the south-western Arabian Peninsula, using dry open country. It is a slim bunting with a long tail edged in white and a thick pale bill. The adult male has a dull yellow head, with a brighter moustachial line and throat.
