Cinereous Bunting

Emberiza cineracea

The Cinereous Bunting (Emberiza cineracea) is a small passerine bird found in parts of Europe and Asia. This bunting is known for its distinctive greyish plumage with streaks on the upperparts and a pale underbelly. It is often found in open grasslands, shrubby areas, and agricultural landscapes where it forages for seeds and insects. During the breeding season, the male sings a melodious song from a prominent perch to attract a mate. The Cinereous Bunting is known for its secretive nature and can be difficult to spot despite its relatively common status in its range.
