Grey Hypocolius

Grey Hypocolius, Hypocolius ampelinus, is a passerine of the Hypocoliidae family that breeds across Iraq, southern Iran, southern Turkmenistan and southern Afghanistan, and also in the Arabian Peninsula, southern Pakistan and western India. It is a slim, long-tailed bird with a slight crest and a short, hooked bill. The plumage is mostly grey or brownish grey, and males show a black mask around the eyes. It occurs in dry semi-desert, woodland and scrub, and also in irrigated and cultivated places with trees, including palm groves and gardens.
