Lesser Whistling Duck

Lesser Whistling Duck, Dendrocygna javanica, is a duck in the Anatidae family and the order Anseriformes. It breeds across the Oriental Region from Pakistan to south-east China and the Greater Sundas. Also called Indian whistling duck or lesser whistling teal, it is a whistling duck of the Indian subcontinent and South-east Asia. It feeds at night, and by day it may gather in flocks near lakes and wet paddy fields. It can roost on trees and may nest in tree hollows. In flight, its broad wings are visible, and it gives a loud two-note wheezy call.
