Moussier's Redstart

Phoenicurus moussieri

Moussier's Redstart is a small passerine bird found in North Africa. The male has a striking black face, orange-red underparts, and a slate-grey back, while the female is more subdued with a grey-brown plumage. They are often found in rocky, arid habitats such as mountainous areas, gorges, and dry scrubland. Moussier's Redstarts are agile and active birds, often seen perched on exposed rocks or darting out to catch insects in flight. Their melodious song can be heard echoing through the rugged landscapes they inhabit.
