Red-bellied Grackle

Red-bellied Grackle, Hypopyrrhus pyrohypogaster, is a bird of the family Icteridae found in Colombia in South America. It is the only species in its genus and is confined to the country’s Andean forests. Its range lies in tropical and subtropical moist montane woodland, and it also occurs along forest edges, in plantations, on cleared ground, in scrub, over pasture and beside roads. The bird is black with a red belly and red under-tail coverts, and has a conical bill and white or yellow irises. Its head, neck and throat feathers have distinctive shiny shafts and narrow webs.
