Private El Paraiso de las Tangaras Birding Route
A demanding six-hour, 4 km birding route from the Cocorná River bridge, following a steep, uneven and often wet historic path through mid-elevation habitat.
About this tour
El Paraiso de las Tangaras is Palmonte’s most demanding route in the supplied guide. It begins at Puente del Rio Cocorná and follows approximately 4 km of historic path through sloping, uneven and frequently wet terrain at around 1,700 m.
Speckled Tanager and Red-bellied Grackle are among the birds highlighted for the route, alongside Blue-naped Chlorophonia and Golden-rumped Euphonia. These species help describe the habitat and birding interest, but their presence on a particular date cannot be guaranteed. The guide sets the pace for ground conditions, weather and participant safety.
This route lasts about six hours, one hour longer than the standard five-hour 2026 rate table supplied by Palmonte. Its final price is therefore confirmed after inquiry rather than inferred from the shorter-tour tariff. Professional guiding, identification and territorial interpretation form the core of the experience.
