Red-eyed Bulbul

Pycnonotus brunneus

The Red-eyed Bulbul (Pycnonotus brunneus) is a medium-sized songbird found in the forests and woodlands of Southeast Asia. It has a distinctive red eye, olive-brown upperparts, and a whitish underbelly. This species is known for its melodious and varied songs, often heard in the early morning and late afternoon. Red-eyed Bulbuls are primarily frugivorous, feeding on a variety of fruits, berries, and insects. They are often observed in small groups or pairs, foraging in the canopy or mid-levels of the forest. Although not currently classified as threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation pose potential risks to their populations.
