Milvus milvus (Linnaeus, 1758)

Red Kite, Milvus milvus, is a bird of prey that breeds in Europe. It belongs to the Accipitridae family, alongside other daytime raptors such as eagles, buzzards and harriers. The species now breeds only within Europe, although it once also nested in West Asia and north-west Africa. In the past, birds in the milder western parts of its range stayed put, while many from northern mainland Europe moved south and west for winter, with some reaching western Asia. Stray birds have been recorded as far north as Finland and as far south as Israel, Libya and the Gambia.
