About this tour
South Bohemia’s fishpond systems form one of Czechia’s major wetland landscapes. After an early pickup in Prague, the route heads south for a private day that combines broad waterbird searches with nearby forest habitat, giving two distinct bird communities within the same excursion.
Red-crested Pochard is a stated wetland possibility, while White-tailed Eagle and Red Kite may be encountered over the wider pond country. The afternoon forest session concentrates on woodland specialists. If the longer evening option is arranged, Boreal Owl and Eurasian Pygmy Owl become priority possibilities, subject to season, access and suitable conditions.
The standard programme lasts ten hours and is available from 20 February to 15 October for up to four participants. A fourteen-hour extension can add the owl session, but no species or evening activity is guaranteed. Exact stops and the feasibility of the extended format are confirmed after inquiry.
