The Siberian Rubythroat (Calliope calliope) is a small passerine bird native to the taiga and forested regions of northern Asia. This species is characterized by its vibrant red throat patch in males and its cryptic brown plumage in females. Siberian Rubythroats are known for their melodious and varied songs, often heard during the breeding season. They primarily feed on insects and small invertebrates, foraging on the ground and in low vegetation. Their breeding habitat consists of dense shrubs and thickets near water sources. The Siberian Rubythroat is a migratory species, wintering in Southeast Asia. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and degradation, its conservation status is currently assessed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
