About this tour

Designed for birders and wildlife sound recordists, this expedition explores the Khurkh and Ulz river valleys, Mongol Daguur and adjacent wetlands. Northeast Mongolia combines abundant birds with exceptionally low human-made noise, creating unusual opportunities for patient field recording.

The route covers taiga edge, mountain steppe, crane wetlands and open grassland. Recording sessions are balanced with broad birding for cranes, raptors, bustards, nightjars, flycatchers, warblers and buntings.
