Pterocles senegallus
The Spotted Sandgrouse (Pterocles senegallus) is a medium-sized bird found in the arid and semi-arid regions of Africa and the Middle East. It is known for its striking spotted plumage and long, pointed wings. These birds are highly adapted to desert life, obtaining most of their water from dew and often traveling long distances to find water sources. Spotted Sandgrouse form large flocks and are often seen flying to and from watering holes during the early morning and late afternoon. They are ground-dwelling birds and are well-camouflaged in their sandy habitats, relying on their cryptic plumage to avoid predators.
