This bird has a warm brown upper plumage and a creamy white underbelly, with subtle speckling on the chest. Its diet consists of insects, berries, and other small invertebrates. The Veery builds cup-shaped nests on the ground or low in shrubs, and its breeding range extends from the northeastern United States up into Canada. During migration, it can be found in a variety of wooded habitats. The Veery is known for its shy and secretive nature, often staying hidden within the underbrush.
