Yellow-lored Amazon

Amazona xantholora

The Yellow-lored Amazon, also known as the Yellow-lored Parrot, is a medium-sized parrot native to the forests of Central and South America. This species is recognized by its predominantly green plumage, yellow forehead and lores, and red wing patches. Yellow-lored Amazons are highly social birds, often seen in flocks, and are known for their playful and intelligent nature. They are skilled mimics and can be found in a variety of forested habitats, including lowland rainforests and montane forests. Unfortunately, due to habitat loss and capture for the pet trade, the Yellow-lored Amazon is listed as Vulnerable by the IUCN.
