Private 10-Day Serra do Divisor Birding Expedition with Kenny Uéslei
Join Kenny Uéslei on a private 10-day birding expedition into western Acre, combining Serra do Divisor forest, river access and specialist Amazon targets for one to three guests.
About this tour
Travel into one of Brazil’s least accessible birding regions with Kenny Uéslei, a biologist and Amazon bird specialist with more than a decade of field experience. This private ten-day expedition links Cruzeiro do Sul, Mâncio Lima and the Serra do Divisor area in western Acre, using road and river connections to reach forest that is far beyond the usual tourism circuit.
The route is designed for a small party of one to three guests who are comfortable with remote travel and changing field conditions. Kenny plans the daily sequence around access, weather, river logistics and recent bird activity. The focus is careful observation in western Amazon habitats, with time to work on difficult forest species rather than rushing through a fixed checklist.
Acre Antshrike and Blue-headed Macaw are among the regional possibilities. The search can also include Purus Jacamar, Gould’s Jewelfront and Rufous-breasted Piculet, together with the elusive Chestnut-headed Crake. Other sought-after birds may include Slaty-breasted Tinamou, Striolated Manakin and Semicollared Puffbird. These are wild birds in a complex environment, so no individual sighting can be guaranteed.
Internal transport, accommodation, meals, field support and Kenny’s guiding are included in the source program. Exact dates, the current price and the final day-by-day plan are confirmed through BirdWatch before booking.
