About this tour
This two-day journey goes to the vulture feeding site at Boeng Toal in Preah Vihear, northern Cambodia. From a purpose-built hide, participants can watch vultures approach and feed at a prepared carcass while minimizing disturbance at one of the country's key sites for these declining scavengers.
The three focal species are Red-headed Vulture, White-rumped Vulture and Slender-billed Vulture, all Critically Endangered. Their presence remains subject to natural conditions, but the managed feeding site is designed to provide a focused opportunity to observe them and learn why the surviving Cambodian population is so important.
The programme includes an overnight stay in a safari tent, local and SVC guiding, four-wheel-drive transport from Siem Reap and the specified meals. Fixed operating costs are high, so the per-person amount falls when more travelers share a booking.
