The Niagara River corridor between Lakes Erie and Ontario is the focus of this late-autumn birdwatching and photography escape. Over four days and three nights, Joël Coutu guides observations of the waterbirds gathering in the region, alongside raptors and other migrants. The announced 2026 trip runs from November 27 to November 30, with the detailed program and logistical instructions supplied before departure.
Gulls and ducks are a central part of the experience. Long-tailed Duck, Canvasback and Redhead are among the waterfowl highlighted in the operator’s program, and swans may also be observed. Species and numbers vary with conditions. The December 2021 trip recorded 72 species; the December 2022 and 2024 visits each reached 76; these are historical results rather than a forecast for this departure. Joël’s bilingual guiding supports both bird identification and time spent photographing the birds present.
The guiding fee is CAD 200 per person, covering preparation and field accompaniment. Accommodation is extra, with an indicative hotel rate of CAD 156 plus tax per night for a room with two Queen beds and breakfast. The published accommodation offer allows room cancellation before November 24,2026. Meals, travel and entrance fees remain at the participant’s expense. Carpooling is encouraged on Saturday and Sunday, and participants can discuss sharing travel or rooms after registration.
A CAD 80 deposit reserves a place, with full payment due 14 days before departure. The deposit is not refundable when a participant cancels. If cancellation is more than seven days before departure and the place is filled, the organizer may allow a transfer of the amount to a future trip. Cancellations within seven days do not receive a refund or credit. Registration can be transferred to another person with reasonable notice. If the organizer cancels, all amounts paid are refunded.
