About this tour

Travel north of Saskatoon to cross the South Saskatchewan River at Clarkboro and Hague ferries. Ferry viewpoints can produce raptors, pelicans, herons, gulls and terns, while short shoreline walks add woodland habitat for orioles, vireos, warblers, flycatchers and sparrows.

The guide may add productive roadside stops between crossings and, when conditions allow, a stop near Fish Creek Historic Site. A spotting scope supports distant river viewing, and binoculars may be available on request.

This easy, four-hour self-drive tour covers about 150 kilometres. Most birding is vehicle-based, with optional short walks on level ground, which may suit some low-mobility participants. Route and ferry access depend on current conditions.
