Private 8-Day Cuba Birding Tour
An eight-day private Cuba birding route linking Viñales, La Güira, Zapata Swamp, Cayo Coco and La Belén.
About this tour
This private eight-day program offers a focused introduction to Cuba’s endemic and regional birdlife across five contrasting areas. After arrival in Havana, the route heads west to Viñales and La Güira for forest birding among limestone landscapes. Cuban Trogon, Cuban Tody, Cuban Grassquit, Cuban Pygmy-Owl and several resident and migrant woodland species are among the possibilities.
The middle of the journey is centered on the Zapata Peninsula. Birding around forest sites, riparian zones and the Las Salinas wetland road creates opportunities for quail-doves, Bee Hummingbird, Cuban Parrot, Cuban Black Hawk, flamingos, rails and other wetland birds. The precise sites are chosen around access and current conditions.
The tour then continues to Cayo Coco for coastal and dry-country specialties such as Cuban Gnatcatcher, Oriente Warbler and Zapata Sparrow, followed by La Belén for Giant Kingbird, Palm Crow, Plain Pigeon and other localized birds. The itinerary involves early starts and long transfers between regions. Lodging, meals, transport and park entry are arranged as part of the final confirmed program, while the guide can refine the route around the guests’ priorities and current bird activity.
