About this tour

Follow the eastern Andes from the Quito region toward Amazonian foothill forest on a focused seven-day private birding journey. The changing elevation is the central feature: open high-country habitat gives way to temperate forest, rushing mountain rivers and increasingly humid lower slopes.

Reserve visits and lodge grounds provide complementary ways to bird, from roadside stops and forest paths to feeders and viewpoint sessions. The route is designed to search for east-slope hummingbirds, tanagers, antbirds and other specialties while retaining enough travel time between the main bases.

The advertised starting price is USD 2,800 per person at the lower group rate. Private transportation, guide service, accommodation, scheduled admissions and described meals are included in the programme. Current dates and the exact operating plan are confirmed through BirdWatch.info.
