More than 200 bird species have been recorded in and around the lodge, and printed scientific checklists are available to visitors. The exact mix varies with season and time of day, while the walk also offers context on local plants, small mammals, agriculture and the relationship between village life and wildlife.
An optional evening nature walk can focus more strongly on nocturnal mammals, including civets, cats, jackals, foxes, hares, fruit bats, hedgehogs and striped hyena where conditions allow.
