About this tour

In central Jerusalem, the Nili and David Jerusalem Bird Observatory offers a close look at migration in an unexpected urban setting. Its pond, fruiting trees and planted habitat attract birds through the year, while the Beracha hide overlooks Nyman Pond. A guided visit can focus on the birds present during your season and on the observatory's work recording migration.

Spring and autumn bring passage migrants; winter can bring robins, wagtails and other visitors. Bird-ringing activity may be observed when a session is running, but it is not part of every visit. BirdLife Israel offers guided activities by request for groups and can arrange private birdwatching around the Jerusalem area. The format and timing are agreed for each booking; early morning is often the most active birding period.

This is a guided birding experience, not a promise of particular species or a scheduled ringing demonstration. Tell the organizer about your group and interests when you inquire so the visit can be tailored to current conditions.
