About this tour
Rene Valdes is a Mexican field ornithologist, conservation researcher, birder and wildlife photographer who guides custom birding trips throughout Mexico.
Mazatlan is his public base, but guiding and meeting arrangements can begin in any suitable city in Mexico depending on the requested route. Possible regions include Mazatlan, the Durango Highway and San Blas in western Mexico; Monterrey, Saltillo and El Cielo in the northeast; the Yucatan Peninsula; Chiapas; Oaxaca and specialist routes across the whole country.
Trips are private for one to six guests and can be arranged either as guiding-only services or as all-inclusive birding trips. Dates, duration, route, meeting city, transport, accommodation, meals and the current quotation are confirmed after enquiry.

Meet Rene at the agreed airport, hotel or local meeting point and follow a custom birding plan based on target species, season and selected region. This can be a focused day trip or the first day of a longer private itinerary. Western Mexico, northeast Mexico, Yucatan, Chiapas, Oaxaca and specialist routes throughout the whole country are possible. Guiding-only and all-inclusive trips can be arranged after enquiry.
