About this tour
The Isthmus of Tehuantepec is both a low corridor between oceans and a major biogeographic boundary. Highland distributions change across it, Atlantic and Pacific lowland birds approach one another, and migrants use the broader passage between North and South America.
The localized search can include Giant Wren, Sumichrast’s Sparrow, Lesser Ground-Cuckoo, Ruddy-breasted Seedeater, Pacific Parakeet and Pacific Screech-Owl, as well as the brightly coloured Orange-breasted and Rosita’s Buntings. Habitat, season and current conditions govern which species are realistic on any departure.
Roque confirmed this as a two-day overnight programme with pickup from the guest hotel. A continuation toward Chiapas is possible, but it is not included by default and must be separately arranged. Exact lodging, daily route and timing remain part of the final private proposal.
