About this tour
The land route explores bird habitats around Rio Lagartos that cannot be reached by boat. With a local guide, travel between tropical dry forest, coastal scrub, dunes and wetland edges, stopping to look and photograph birds at a comfortable pace. The operator highlights regional specialties and Yucatán endemics, with sightings dependent on the day and never guaranteed.
Diego Núñez, founder of Rio Lagartos Adventures, is named by the operator as the guide for this excursion. Choose a three-hour introduction or a four-hour outing with more time for photography and birding. Ground transport, an English-speaking birding guide, picnic breakfast, bottled water and light refreshments are included. The reserve conservation fee is payable separately.
