A ferry crossing gives this day a different starting point from the Sobieszewo reserve walks. Meet in Świbno, cross the Vistula to Mikoszewo and spend the day exploring the woodland and coastal habitats on the far bank with Ryan. The private English-language outing lasts eight hours and runs from May through September.
The route begins in pine forest before moving into more varied woodland. Fallen timber and undergrowth give parts of the walk a wilder feel, and the path leads toward a causeway beside the river. At the dunes, the view opens onto coastal bird habitat, with opportunities to scan for terns, gulls and other waterbirds.
Sandwich Terns, Caspian Terns, oystercatchers and Sanderlings are among the seasonal possibilities. Great Crested Grebes and Ospreys also feature in the area’s birding potential. Their presence varies, and the guide’s observations on the day shape where you spend time. Grey seals may be visible offshore or on sandbars, but they are an additional possibility rather than a promised encounter.
Take a lunch break near the coast before returning by a quieter woodland loop. Bring food for the break. The ferry crossing, binoculars, field guide and insect repellent are included. Be prepared for soft sand, uneven ground and sections with logs or vegetation across the way; these make the walk more demanding than a simple paved coastal stroll.

Across the Vistula to woodland and dunes
Meet in Świbno and take the ferry to Mikoszewo. Walk through pine and mixed forest toward the riverside causeway and coastal dunes. Stop to watch birds and eat your packed lunch before returning through quieter woodland.
