Choose a private exploration of Ptasi Raj if you would like the walk to follow your interests more closely. Ryan guides in English through the reserve’s woodland, wetlands and coastal habitats, adapting the experience for your party. The outing lasts four to five hours, covers approximately 8 km and accommodates up to ten people.
Birdwatching changes with the habitat. In the woods, listen for movement and calls before continuing to the wetland hides, where longer views make it easier to study distant birds. Bearded Reedlings, herons and cormorants feature among previous observations around the hides. The beach adds a different perspective, with a wide stretch of Baltic coastline to scan and the possibility of a White-tailed Eagle overhead.
The route is mostly level, but the hides are reached by steps. Binoculars are available to use, so you can enjoy the walk without bringing your own pair. A pause at a designated rest spot leaves time for a snack or picnic from your bag; food is not listed among the supplied equipment.
Start by the information boards beside the car park opposite the bus loop. Comfortable closed shoes, drinking water and weather-appropriate layers will make the walk easier. Warm-season visitors should also bring mosquito repellent and sun protection. Toilets are not available within the reserve. The final stop is a sheltered area near the exit.
