About this tour
Base yourself in Almodovar for three nights and devote two full days to guided birding across the surrounding grassland steppes. The compact program is built for travelers seeking an organized local stay with concentrated field time for Great Bustard, Little Bustard, Spanish Imperial Eagle and other Alentejo specialties.
After an arrival briefing, the first full day combines daytime 4x4 birding with a night excursion for Red-necked Nightjar when conditions and season are suitable. A second full field day follows, allowing the guide to revisit productive areas or broaden the habitat coverage. Other possible birds include sandgrouse, stone-curlew, vultures, Black-winged Kite, larks, shrikes and spring migrants.
Accommodation and breakfast are included for all three nights. Other meals remain flexible, apart from the tour-end dinner stated in the official program. The package does not include transfers from Lisbon, Faro or other cities, flights, personal insurance, tips or personal optical equipment.

Itinerary
Day 1
Arrival and briefing
Arrive in Almodovar, settle into the accommodation and meet at the Birding Center for an evening briefing. Dinner is independent or can be arranged at the center.
Day 2
Alentejo steppe birding and night excursion
Take an early or packed breakfast before a full day of guided 4x4 birding. After independent meal arrangements and an evening bird-list review, head out for a night search for Red-necked Nightjar when season and conditions allow.
Day 3
Second full day in the Almodovar region
Continue with another full guided birding day, adapting the route to current activity and targets not yet encountered. Lunch is independent; the official program includes a tour-end dinner before the final night in Almodovar.
Day 4
Departure
Have breakfast and depart after the three-night stay.
