4-Day Uganda Gorillas, Wildlife and Birding Safari
A four-day private route from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi, combining Kazinga Channel wildlife, birding and gorilla trekking.
About this tour
This compact four-day private safari links two of western Uganda’s best-known protected areas. The journey begins with a road transfer from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park, followed by an afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga Channel. A game drive the next morning provides time for savannah wildlife and bird observation before the route continues to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Bwindi is the setting for a guided mountain gorilla trek after the required park briefing. The time needed to find a gorilla group can vary with its movements and forest conditions. If the programme allows, the route also includes a nature walk near Munyaga Waterfall and a cultural visit with the Batwa community. The final day returns to Kampala with a stop at the Equator.

Itinerary
Day 1
Western transfer and Kazinga Channel cruise
Travel from Kampala toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, stopping for lunch in Mbarara. After reaching the park, take an afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga Channel before continuing to the selected overnight accommodation.
Day 2
Savannah wildlife before Bwindi
Survey Queen Elizabeth National Park on a morning wildlife drive, with possible observations of lions, leopards, buffalo, antelope, elephants and birdlife. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Depending on timing, the afternoon can be used to rest or follow a nature trail toward Munyaga Waterfall, where primates may also be encountered.
Day 3
Bwindi gorilla trekking and Batwa community visit
Attend the required park briefing before entering Bwindi for the guided mountain gorilla trek. Finding the gorillas may take two to eight hours according to their movements and forest conditions; the permitted viewing period is limited. After returning for lunch, an evening Batwa community visit may be included if time allows.
Day 4
Equator stop on the Kampala return
Drive back toward Kampala with a picnic lunch during the journey. Pause at the Equator for photographs before continuing to the agreed final drop-off.
