About this tour

Devote a full day to Colorado’s birds of prey with a naturalist guide who combines field identification, photography and raptor ecology. The route follows current conditions along the Front Range rather than promising a fixed set of sites or species.

Potential targets include Bald Eagle, Golden Eagle, Ferruginous Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, Northern Harrier, American Kestrel, Prairie Falcon, Burrowing Owl and Great Horned Owl. At each stop, the guide explains useful field marks and behavior while allowing time to practice identification or photograph cooperative birds.

The private tour runs from 07:00 to 15:00 for one to four guests. Hotel pickup is available within most Denver and Boulder metro locations, with another meeting point arranged when needed. Transportation, professional guiding, lunch, snacks, water, binoculars and a spotting scope are included. Vegetarian and vegan lunch options can be requested. Species and photographic opportunities depend on season, habitat and bird activity.
