The Imperial Amazon, also known as the Dominican Amazon, is a striking parrot species native to the island of Dominica in the Caribbean. These birds are known for their vibrant green plumage, with accents of red on the wings and a distinct white eye ring. They are highly social and often seen in pairs or small flocks. The Imperial Amazon primarily inhabits the lush, mountainous rainforests of Dominica, where they feed on a variety of fruits, seeds, and nuts. Unfortunately, due to habitat loss and illegal trapping for the pet trade, the Imperial Amazon is considered critically endangered, with only a few hundred individuals remaining in the wild.
