Terpsiphone mutata (Linnaeus, 1766)

Malagasy Paradise Flycatcher, Terpsiphone mutata, is a passerine of Madagascar and the Comoros, including Mayotte. It belongs to the monarchs and is a regional endemic of native forest, with a wider presence in other wooded places such as plantations, gardens and secondary growth. The male is marked by very long tail plumes that can greatly extend its length. The female is mainly rufous-orange, with a black head and nape, black wing feathers edged in rufous, and a narrow pale blue eyelid wattle.
