Tachuris rubrigastra (Vieillot, 1817)

Many-colored Rush Tyrant, Tachuris rubrigastra, is a passerine of the tyrant flycatcher family in South America, breeding in the west, south and south-east of the continent. It lives mainly in large reedbeds in lakes and marshes, with only occasional use of nearby grassy margins. Its range is split into separate parts, including western Chile, western Peru, central and south-eastern Peru, western Bolivia, north-western Argentina, southern Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and eastern Argentina. It is the only species in its genus and has four recognised subspecies.
