Puna Teal, Spatula puna, is a duck in the Anatidae family and belongs to the order Anseriformes. It is native to South America, with a breeding range from Peru to north-west Argentina. The species is tied to the high Andes and is found on larger lakes and pools in the altiplano. It was formerly treated as part of the silver teal, but is now recognised as a separate species. Puna Teal is a resident bird rather than a migrant, and its range is limited to high-altitude wetland areas.
