Asthenes ottonis (Berlepsch, 1901)

Rusty-fronted Canastero, Asthenes ottonis, is a bird of the Andes in south-central Peru, where it lives in Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Apurímac and Cuzco. It is a member of the ovenbird family and is found in semi-humid to dry montane scrub and along the edges of Polylepis woodland. This species is resident all year within its range. It is a Peruvian endemic and has a distinctive rufous forehead, with rich brown upperparts and chestnut-rufous wings and tail.
