Somali Courser

Somali Courser, Cursorius somalensis, is a courser in the Glareolidae family that breeds in tropical semiarid parts of Africa. It occurs in eastern Africa, including Eritrea, eastern Ethiopia, Somalia, extreme south-east South Sudan, and northern and eastern Kenya. It is a bird of open dry ground, with a preference for semi-desert, short grassland and burnt grass. It is close to the cream-coloured courser, but has a darker greyish-brown body. In flight, only the outer half of the underside of the wing is black, while the inner part matches the sandy-brown body.
