Warbling White-eye

Zosterops japonicus Temminck & Schlegel, 1847

Warbling White-eye, Zosterops japonicus, is a passerine of the white-eye family found across eastern Asia, Japan, the Greater Sundas apart from Borneo, the Sulawesi region, the Moluccas, the Lesser Sundas and the Philippines apart from the Sulu Archipelago. It was described by Temminck and Schlegel in 1847. The bird has a white eyering, a green forehead and a yellow throat, with olive-green upperparts and pale green underparts. Its rounded wings and long, slender bill are linked to its acrobatic form. Adults measure 10 to 11 cm and weigh 9.75 to 12.75 grams.
