Private Palmonte Terrace and Flor de Monte Birding Experience
Beginner-friendly birding from Palmonte’s canopy-level terrace, with an optional short Flor de Monte trail walk through crops and regenerating woodland.
About this tour
Start at Palmonte Posada Rural, where the terrace sits close to the level of the surrounding canopy and offers broad views across the property. The operator has identified nearly 150 visiting species and notes that roughly 60 may be seen or heard from this setting over time; any individual outing will vary with conditions and bird activity.
The experience is designed for first-time birdwatchers, families and guests who do not have their own specialist equipment. Jhonatan introduces visual and sound identification, explains useful birding applications and helps participants build a record of what appears during the session. If conditions and the group allow, the route can continue along the short Flor de Monte trail through cultivated ground and regenerating woodland toward Quebrada Dos Aguas.
Palmonte follows a low-disturbance approach: birds are not fed and playback is not used. White-mantled Barbet, Beautiful Woodpecker and Colombian Chachalaca are among the locally documented possibilities, but none is guaranteed.
