About this tour

Southern Ecuador’s sharply changing landscapes shape this 18-day private route from Guayaquil. Mangrove and coastal wetland birding leads into Buenaventura and Jorupe, followed by the highlands around Utuana, Cerro Toledo and Tapichalaca.

The middle section works through Podocarpus, Copalinga and the remote southeast around Yankuam and Yantzaza. The final days return toward Andean sites at Cerro Acanama, Cerro de Arcos, Yunguilla and Cajas National Park, giving the itinerary an unusually broad range of dry forest, cloud forest, foothill and páramo habitat.

Accommodation, meals through Day 18, private transport, a licensed English-speaking birding guide and reserve admissions are included in the official outline. Dana Tours advertises a starting price of USD 7,200 per person at the lower group rate. BirdWatch.info will confirm current terms and availability.
