Private Bird Photography in Marais Breton Vendéen
Private half-day or full-day bird photography and observation on a 14-hectare Marais Breton site with nine ponds, wet meadows and several hides.
About this tour
Spend a private half-day or full day photographing and observing birds on Antoine Mercier’s 14-hectare site in the Marais Breton Vendéen. The property contains nine ponds of different sizes together with wet meadows and rough grassland, creating several distinct settings for field observation.
Several permanent hides and shelters are available on site. Photographers may also bring a portable hide for more flexibility, subject to Antoine’s instructions and the conditions on the day. The format is suitable for patient bird photography and natural-history observation rather than a fixed route.
Birds recorded on the property include Short-eared Owl, White-spotted Bluethroat, Glossy Ibis, White Stork, Northern Lapwing, Whinchat and Garganey. These are examples from the site, not guaranteed sightings. Antoine can advise on seasonal possibilities when responding to an inquiry.
The meeting point is the church in Bouin, in the Vendée department. Current access rates are EUR 120 for a half day and EUR 240 for a full day. Visitors must bring identification, remove all waste and leave dogs at home.
