9-Day Grímsey Puffin Photography Workshop
A nine-day Iceland photography workshop with four nights on Grímsey, timed for Atlantic Puffins, nesting seabirds and long Arctic summer light.
About this tour
Travel from Reykjavík to North Iceland and spend four nights on Grímsey, a small island on the Arctic Circle where seabird cliffs and long July daylight create exceptional conditions for field photography. Atlantic Puffins are the central focus, with additional opportunities for Razorbills, murres, Arctic Terns, Northern Fulmars and Black-legged Kittiwakes.
Owner and head guide Skarpi leads a maximum of eight participants. Field sessions cover camera settings, composition and practical techniques for birds in flight. The schedule is deliberately flexible so the group can work around light, weather and bird activity, with optional image critique and post-processing discussion when time permits.
The workshop begins and ends in Reykjavík. Accommodation, meals except the final dinner, ground transport, the Grímsey ferry and photography guidance are included. A weather-dependent chartered boat session may offer a different view of the seabird colonies. Wildlife and sea conditions remain unpredictable, so particular sightings and the boat outing cannot be guaranteed.
