Samson Mulaudzi's full-day Soutpansberg birding format concentrates on the Afromontane forest habitat around Entabeni and Hanglip. His published programme describes an eight-to-nine-hour day under the forest canopy, with the choice and order of sites adjusted to conditions and the birds of interest.
Samson associates Entabeni with Yellow-streaked Greenbul and Orange Ground Thrush, as well as Bat Hawk. In the wider forest area he also notes Eastern Nicator, Gorgeous Bushshrike, Green Twinspot and Red-capped Robin-Chat. A Thohoyandou Botanical Garden stop can be considered for a different local setting if it fits the agreed day; it is an option, not a guaranteed addition to the Entabeni–Hanglip route.
The outing gives visitors a longer period in forest than the half-day Roodewal trip, allowing a more patient search and time to compare different sections of the habitat.
