Spend the day birding the Mabamba papyrus channels by canoe and nearby community habitat, focusing on Shoebill and wetland species such as Papyrus Gonolek, African Jacana, Blue-breasted Bee-eater and lapwings.
Return to Mabamba for early wetland birding, then continue toward Mpanga Forest for additional forest-edge and woodland species.
Travel north toward Murchison Falls with lunch and birding stops. The park offers savannah, riverine and woodland habitats with possibilities including bee-eaters, raptors, hornbills and large mammals.
Use an early game drive and afternoon boat cruise to look for savannah birds, waterbirds and mammals along the Nile and surrounding Borassus grassland.
Spend the day birding the Royal Mile and nearby forest trails, one of Uganda's strongest forest birding areas, with good light and broad trail access for observation and photography.
Drive to Kibale with birding and rest stops. If arrival time allows, bird around the lodge or nearby forest edge.
Start early for Green-breasted Pitta and other forest birds, with optional chimpanzee tracking. Later bird the roadside and Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for forest and wetland species.
Continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park, a major birding and wildlife area with savannah, wetland and woodland habitats and more than 600 recorded bird species.
Take a morning game drive for birds and mammals, then use an afternoon Kazinga Channel boat cruise for waterbirds, hippos and other wildlife.
Travel through the Ishasha sector with a chance for tree-climbing lions, then continue to Bwindi for Albertine Rift forest birding and gorilla country.
Join a guided mountain gorilla trek in the Buhoma sector, subject to permit availability and confirmed arrangements.
Spend the day birding Bwindi forest trails toward Mubwindi or other suitable areas, searching for Albertine Rift specialties and forest birds.
Travel toward Lake Mburo with birding stops and time to settle into the park area.
Bird Lake Mburo by vehicle, on foot where available and by boat, looking for species such as African Finfoot, night-herons, kingfishers and savannah birds alongside zebra, eland and antelope.
Return to Entebbe with birding stops as time allows before the onward flight.
