Beautiful Nuthatch

Sitta formosa

The Beautiful Nuthatch is a small, colorful bird found in the forests of Southeast Asia. It is known for its striking combination of blue, orange, and black plumage, with a distinctive black stripe through the eye. This nuthatch is a skilled climber and forager, using its strong bill to probe for insects and seeds in tree bark. It is often found in mixed-species foraging flocks, where it can be heard giving its high-pitched calls. The Beautiful Nuthatch is a delightful sight in the dense, mossy forests it calls home, adding a splash of color to the canopy.
