About this tour
This three-day birding tour explores Sobibor Landscape Park and the wider Polesie Lubelskie landscape in eastern Poland. Peat bogs, wet meadows, pine forest, alder swamp, reed-fringed lakes and quiet forest tracks form a connected mosaic for cranes, woodpeckers, raptors, marsh birds and owls.
Great Grey Owl is the central search focus, but encountering any wild owl requires patience, suitable conditions and luck. The guide selects observation points according to recent bird activity and leads walks along forest and wetland tracks that cannot always be reached by vehicle. Dawn and evening are important field periods, while the middle of the day can be used for moving between sites, resting and reviewing sightings.
Spring is the principal season described by the operator, with autumn migration and specialized winter visits also possible by arrangement. The easy, unhurried format is intended for experienced birders, keen beginners and wildlife photographers.
