Half-Day Danube Delta Birdwatching with Bunica Maria
Explore Carasuhat and nearby Delta waterways on an approximately three-hour guided boat outing, followed by a traditional fish lunch.
About this tour
A short boat excursion gives you time among the reed channels and open water around Mahmudia without an overnight stay. Bunica Maria combines approximately three hours of birdwatching with a late lunch at its family guesthouse.
Carasuhat’s restored wetlands are a focus for the outing. The wider route can take in the Litcov channel and the lake system around Gorgova, Porcoava, Isac and Uzlina. Watch for avocets and stilts around shallow areas, with pelicans, herons, kingfishers and other waterbirds along the waterways.
An English-speaking guide helps identify what is present and explains the wetland surroundings. The relaxed boat format suits an introduction to Delta birding as well as visitors with a little time for photography; the precise selection of birds changes seasonally.
